This is a Northern California Intercollegiate Fencing League (NCIFL) tournament. Entry is open only to matriculated college/university students. Competitors must present valid student ID from their institutions. This is an unsanctioned tournament, therefore USFA ratings will not be awarded. USFA membership not required. ------ TOURNAMENT DETAILS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE ------ ------ Registration Information ------ Entry Fees: Tournament fee: $10 | 1st Event Fee: $20 | Additional Event Fee: $10 Payments will be assessed at the door. Cash or Venmo accepted. Fencers must indicate their collegiate club as their primary club when preregistering. Preregistrations will be approved when this is verified. Preregistration closes on 03/24/2023 at midnight. ------ Events Scheduled: ------ Unrated Mixed Novice Foil - 9:00 AM Unrated Mixed Foil - 11:00 AM Unrated Mixed Epee - 12:30 AM Unrated Mixed Sabre - 2 PM All times are subject to change based on size of competition, events expected to start within 15 minutes of registration closing. ------ Tournament Rules ------ Standard pool format (5 touches or end of single 3 minute period. DEs for all events are fenced to 10 touches or conclusion of two 3 minute periods. The Mixed Novice Foil event is open to beginner fencers who have fenced for less than a year. Therefore fencers who have started fencing Spring 2022 may compete in this event. Pools and DEs (for Mixed Novice Foil) up to the round of 8 will be fenced dry. Round of 8, semifinal, and finals will be fenced electric. Clubs are expected to outfit their own fencers. Participants of the Novice event are not allowed to participate in other events. ------ COVID-19 Precautions & Protocol ------ In light of recent relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions, we will continue to observe precautions for safety of organizers and participants. Proofs of vaccination are not required for entry into the venue and tournament. Face masks are reccomended when not actively fencing or eating/drinking. Fencers must come dressed in clean fencing uniforms. Changing rooms may not be available. Pool & Strip assignments will be available on displays and online at FencingTimeLive to maintain safe distancing. DO NOT come to the tournament if you have reason to believe that you may have COVID-19.
