FRED Announces the North Texas Div JO Qualifier Fencers must be U.S. citizens OR permanent residents of the United States and current competitive members of the USFA, and meet the age eligibility requirements below: * Junior(U20) 1991-1997 * Cadet (U17) 1994-1997 Fencers qualify by finishing in the top 25% of the qualifying competition. Junior events are held first; those who qualify for Junior events are automatically qualified for the Cadet event of the same weapon. It is the fencer's responsibility to provide the registration folks PROOF OF USFA MEMBERSHIP. Bring this with you, along with the waiver signed by a parent or guardian. If you have not received your USFA membership card, either download your membership information from the USFA website or email the USFA for a confirmation. ONE DAY MEMBERSHIPS are not allowed for Qualifying events. The tournament is starting late on Saturday to accommodate those fencers who are scheduled to take college entrance exams. If you are going to be late, call (972) 444-8498 and let us know. You may be required to fence all of your pool bouts back-to-back. In July 2011 the Under 19 and Under 16 events will be incorporated in NAC framework. The Under 19 and Under 16 events held in July mark the beginning of the domestic season for the Under 19 (Junior) and Under 16 (Cadet) and the end of the domestic season for all other categories. ELIGIBILITY: Fencers must be at least 13 years old by January 1 of the current season. Fencers younger than that must, as of the entry deadline, be on the Cadet point standings to be eligible for Junior events or on the Y14 point standings to be eligible for Cadet events. For Junior events, fencers must be under 20 years old as of January 1 of the current season. For Cadet events, fencers must be under 17 years old as of January 1 of the current season. There are no classification requirements. Fencers must meet Age requirements as above and be US citizens or permanent residents.
