Welcome to The Sledgehammer 2022 RYC/RJC & Non-Regional D1A
This tournament is open to all regions of USA Fencing; however, only Region III RYC and RJC fencers will earn points. No regional points will be earned for the DIV IA Open (Non- Regional event)
This tournament will follow the current rules and procedures of USA Fencing (https://www.usafencing.org/athlete-handbook).

Age Eligibility Birth Years
* Y10 = 2012 - 2015
* Y12 = 2010 - 2013 (or on Y10 NRPS)
* Y14 = 2008 - 2011 (or on Y12 NRPS)
* JR = 2003 - 2009 (or on Cadet NRPS)
* D1A = 2008 and earlier (or on Junior NRPS)

Tournament Schedule
All times are close of check-in.
The starting time of each individual event is subject to change to maintain load balancing of the strips and staffing. We will notify all fencers if there will be any changes in the close of check-in times and actual event starting times throughout the tournament.
All events are capped and subject to change to maintain a reasonable number of attendees throughout the day for health & safety, strip usage and staffing.
The tournament daily schedule is SUBJECT TO CHANGE based upon registrations and entries.

Check-in Procedure
1) The venue will open at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, August 27 and 6:30 a.m. Sunday, August 28. We recommend that you arrive at least (one) 1 hour before the close of your event check-in time.
2) Equipment check is open 90 minutes prior to the close of check-in of each event.
3) Proof of current USA Fencing membership, current FIE license or foreign federation membership must be presented. If a fencer is not a current member or their membership has expired the fencer has to complete and pay for USA Fencing membership at the door.

5) All fencers must have a USA Fencing membership card or a clearly legible copy to use the Auto Check-In feature of our bar scanner.
6) Fencers will be required to present proof of age in the form of: 1) an original or legible copy of a birth certificate; 2) a passport; or 3) a driver's license or state issued ID card, unless the USA Fencing membership card has "Birth Year Is Verified " noted on the membership card. Submit a copy of any of the above to USA Fencing to verify the birth year of the athlete permanently.

COVID-19 Guidelines
* This tournament is subject to current USA Fencing policies, federal mandates, state laws and local orders regarding COVID-19, including the assembly of persons.
* COVID-19 policies and practices are subject to change at any moment.
* COVID-19 protocols will be implemented throughout the entirety of the tournament.
* The continued public health and safety are the number one (1) concerns of the tournament organizer. IF YOU CANNOT COMPLY WITH COVID-19 PROTOCOLS PLEASE DO NOT REGISTER OR ATTEND THIS TOURNAMENT. THE TOURNAMENT ORGANIZER WILL NOT ARGUE WITH YOU.
* If the tournament is cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns or by the order of USA Fencing, a full refund will be issued to all fencers with the exception of administrative fees which are non-refundable.
* Armorers have the full right to decline checking unwashed or equipment that is not clean.
* A voluntary temperature check will be made available to anyone in the venue as a public safety courtesy.
* Everyone in the venue must wear a face mask that simultaneously covers both the nose and mouth except when eating and/or drinking.
MISCELLANEOUS
* Information during the tournament regarding check-in, pools, direct elimination and final results will be continuously posted and updated at www.FencingTimeLive.com. Any errors must be immediately reported to the bout committee for review and/or correction.
* Each event will start within a few minutes after the announced close of registration.
* WITHOUT EXCEPTION AND SUBJECT TO AN IMMEDIATE PENALTY during the pool round only fencers in uniform, referees and tournament staff are allowed inside the marked and designated "sport zone".
* WITHOUT EXCEPTION AND SUBJECT TO AN IMMEDIATE PENALTY during the direct elimination only one (1) coach or parent is allowed to assist the fencer during the active DE bout near the end of the strip.
There will be a special awards ceremony for the top-8 fencers of each event.

Registration and Event Fees
Regular fees begin Wednesday, June 1, 2022 and last until Monday, August 15, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. - Registration is $35.00 and Event fees are $55.00/event.
Late fees (Triple) begin Tuesday, August 16, 2022 and last until Thursday, August 25, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. PST - Registration will be $105.00 and Event fees will be $165.00/event.
Starting Friday, August 26, 2022, online registration will not be permitted.
Walk-in registration, event entry and participation will be permitted if there are open slots in the event and approval is granted by the Bout Committee.
Refund Policy
* The Registration and Administration fees are NON-REFUNDABLE.
* Refund requests must be received by Friday, August 19, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. PST.
* The refund of event fees can be requested by sending an email to: TheSledgehammerFenTour@Gmail.com
* Starting Saturday, August 20, 2022 the tournament policy will be NO REFUND, NO EXCEPTION for any reason.
* Refunds are processed a few days after the refund request has been received. If approved, the refund will be released by the national office of USA Fencing.
* There will be NO REFUND of fees approved or issued to No-shows or Withdrawal from events.
