Fencing for the blind and visually impaired person is more than a sport. It helps participants enhance their navigation of the physical world more effectively.
August 16 to 20 the International Fencing Club and the Carroll Center for the Blind will co-host the first-ever International Blind Fencing Competition in Boston - bringing together blind athletes from around the globe. This event is a vital step toward earning Blind Fencing a place in the Paralympics.
Lodging information below.
For athletes requiring lodging, we will have a limited number of rooms available at the Carroll Center for the Blind and have booked a block of rooms at a local hotel. For more information, email fencing@carroll.org
Events and Fees.
Fee: $150
The draft program below is provisional and subject to change based on participant registration. The event format will be mixed unless there are enough entries in each gender category to hold separate competitions.
Saturday, August 16
After 10 am: Arrival and visit to the club.
6:00pm: Coaches Meeting at IFC
Sunday, August 17
9:00 AM: Coaches and athlete’s clinic
Monday, August 18
10:00 AM: Individual Competition
6:00pm: Dinner
Tuesday, August 19
9:00 AM: Team Competition
Wednesday, August 20
All day: Return Home
