We would like to put pre-registrants names on the back of the Tshirt, so please pre-order and pre-register by August 31st to be included on the T-shirt. They are available for $20 pre-order. Anyone pre-registering after August 31st will not be able to be added to the Tshirt so please register by then! A limited number of TShirts will be available at the door. Thank you! ****************************** **********************PARKING******************** We have now changed the venue to the CSUN Student Rec Center. It is on the corner of Prairie St and Zelzah Ave. There is a parking booth with a machine or an attendant. Parking can be found at the structure and the lot and is $6 for all day. Please make sure to pay for parking and place your permit on your dashboard. The closest structure is the first one on the left which is directly across from the SRC. A map is provided here - http://www.csun.edu/csun-maps The SRC is located on F4. ************************************************* ************WAIVERS**************** Registering for the RYC and pre-registering online is acceptance of the attached waiver form. You do not have to fill them out. Please read it before registering. *********************************** ************NOTE**************** For refund of event fee(s), withdrawals must be received via email no later than the Monday two weeks before the first day of the tournament. Registration fees are nonrefundable. Refunds are processed 2-4 weeks following the tournament. ************************************ ***********************IMPORTANT NOTE************************* The Conductive Bib is now Required at all USFA events!!! In the 2011-2012 season, the USFA began to transition to the conductive bib format for foilists. As of August 1, 2012 the ruling now expands to cover every foil tournament that is USFA sanctioned and held to USFA rules. All Sanctioned Saber tournaments now also require the 800N Fie saber gloves. Please be prepared with the proper equipment, a vendor will be available. ********************************************************************* The Junior events are sanctioned RJC events and will count toward Region 4 point standings. Food and beverages will be available for sale. There are no outside food or drinks other than water and gatorade on the GYM floor. Please make note of this in preparation of the tournament. Registration fee: $30.00, Event fee: $25.00 for RYC events Event fee: $40.00 for RJC events After regular fee deadline until September 15th, registration fee: $60 event fee: $50.00 and RJC event fee $80. Triple fees in effect after September 15th until September 21st, registration fee: $90, event fees $75 and RJC event fee $120. Online registration closes September 21st. NO ENTRIES AT THE DOOR! (The USFA requires that organizers pay a $2.00 RYC support fee per each registrant. This fee is included in the registration fee.) Registration may be done either on-line or at Swords Fencing Studio. Fees must be paid to be considered registered. If you have not paid you are NOT registered and must pay the higher fees after Sept 8th to Sept 21st. Events may be mixed if enrollment is fewer than 6. Events may be separated if greater than 6. Registration fees are non refundable. Requests for event fee refunds must be submitted by Sept 11th, 2017. T-Shirts are available for pre-order. Please pre-order by August 31st. A limited number of shirts will be available for sale at the event. USFA Membership - USFA rules will be enforced. All fencers must be current members of the USFA . Proof of USFA membership is either an unexpired membership card, an email from the USFA or listing on the USFA website. Membership forms will be available at the tournament or may be downloaded from the USFA website. If proof of membership is unavailable fencers will be required to submit a new membership application form with payment at the door. No exceptions. The USFA is working towards an age verification process. This season, parents should come prepared with ONE of the following in case the fencer's age needs verification for eligibility purposes: A government issued photo ID with date of birth included A copy of birth certificate Passport Weapons are checked (weights and shims) during pools and direct eliminations for all events. Officials should be informed of all rules specific to youth events, especially that ALL Y10 events be fenced with blades no longer than 32.5 inches. Masks, gloves, body cords, and lames will be checked. Names on jackets or lames are not required. Participation at an RYC qualifies fencers for Y10 events at the January & April NACs as well as Summer Nationals. Points are awarded based on the new USFA points guidelines. Qualifying Path Fencers must meet age requirements in Table 2.5.1 AND be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident AND Be on the Y10 National Point Standings at the regular fee entry deadline OR Be on the Y10 Regional Youth Point Standings in your region at the regular fee entry deadline OR Top 65% of your regions Y12 Regional Youth Point Standings by entry deadline OR Participate in a SYC or RYC in the current season Youth 12 National Championships Eligibility (age, classification) Subject to the listed exceptions, fencers must meet birth years in Table 2.5.1. There are no classification requirements. Qualification When determining qualifications using top 65% on regional points lists or top 8 on National Rolling Point Standings, ONLY foreign fencers are skipped. Qualifying Path Fencers must meet age requirements in Table 2.5.1 AND be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident AND Be on the Y12 National Point Standings at the regular fee entry deadline OR Be in the top 8 of the Y10 National Point Standings at the regular fee entry deadline OR Be in the top 65% (round up) of your regions Y12 regional point standings at the regular fee entry deadline (number will be based on the size of the region) OR Earn at least 70 Y12 Regional Points during the current season OR Be in the top 30% of your regions Y14 Regional Point Standings at the regular fee entry deadline (number will be based on the size of the regions points list) OR Place in the top 25% of the fencers divisions Y14 National Championship qualifying competition Youth 14 National Championships Eligibility (age, classification) Subject to the listed exceptions, fencers must meet the birth years in Table 2.5.1. There are no classification requirements. Qualification When determining qualifications using top 30% on regional points lists or top 16 on National Rolling Points Standings, ONLY foreign fencers are skipped. Qualifying Path Fencers must meet age requirements AND be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident AND Be on the Youth 14 National Point Standings at the regular entry fee deadline OR Be in the top 16 of the Y12 National Point Standings at the regular entry fee deadline OR Be in the top 30% (round up) of your regions Y14 regional point standings at the regular fee entry deadline (number will be based on the size of the region) OR Earn at least 175 Y14 Regional Points during the current season OR Place in the top 25% (round up) of the fencers divisions Y14 National Championship qualifying competition Regional points will be awarded. Seeding is firstly by national points, secondly by ranking. Cadet July Challenge Fencers must meet eligibility AND Be on Cadet NRPS (Age out after JOs) OR Be in the top 50% of the Y14 national rolling point standings (NRPS) at the regular fee entry deadline OR Be in the top 50% of your regions Cadet Regional Circuit Points OR Top 50% of their regions Junior Regional Circuit Points OR Earn at least 65 regional points on the Cadet or Junior Regional Point Standing OR Foreign athletes who meet the USA Fencing classification standard of A, B or C as defined in the Section 2.2.5 in the Athlete Handbook. Junior July Challenge Fencers must meet age eligibility AND On Junior NRPS (Age out rankings after JOs) by entry deadline OR On Cadet NRPS (Age out rankings after JOs) OR Be in the top 50% of your regions Junior Regional Circuit Points OR Earn at least 65 regional points on the Junior Regional Point Standing OR Be in the top 25% of the Youth 14 national rolling point standings (NRPS) at the regular fee entry deadline OR Foreign athletes who meet the USA Fencing classification standard of A, B as defined in the Section 2.2.5 in the Athlete Handbook.
