Tri-City Fencing Academy is hosting its first senior randomized team open! This event places individual fencers in fully randomized teams of three where they will compete against other teams in full 45 point team matches.
Events Scheduled Times:
- Senior Mixed Team Epee - 9:00am
*****The above are initial times and event times may may change based on registration - we will email registrants if anything changes.
Age Definitions:
Senior: any athlete who is a minimum of 13 years old
Sanctioning:
This event will be unsanctioned, but it is required that all participants have an active CFF license.
Tournament Structure:
Teams will each fence in three team matches with pairings determined by the Swiss-system matchmaking format (teams with similar records fence each other in each round). Medals will be presented to the three teams with the top record.
The event will use #5 weapons.
The event will require legal masks, wires, and weapons - only weapons will be tested, the remainder must be adequately functional to the referee’s discretion.
Fees:
Fencers pay a $10 admin fee (non-refundable) and a $35 entry fee (total $45).
Fees are payable by e-transfer to payment@tri-cityfencing.com prior to the start of the event. Please include the fencer’s name, as registered, with the e-transfer.
Tournament Rules:
Some of the items mentioned below may seem obvious, but safety is utmost.
All fencers will be required to:
- wear a fencing jacket, fencing pants with long socks, plastron (1/2 jacket), chest protector (optional for M events), mask and a glove in good condition.
- wear decent, well fitting NON-MARKING inside-only runners.
- wear proper-sized, tucked-in t-shirts to ensure that there isn't any skin showing between jacket edges and pants.
- use well-maintained weapons in good operating condition.
CFF Licenses:
All participating fencers will be required to have their Competitive CFF license (or foreign equivalent) for liability reasons.
Licenses can be obtained at: www.fencing.ca
Fencing Equipment:
All participants must have their own gear or borrowed from their club.
TFA will have very limited equipment to borrow during the event, so participants must come prepared with “back up” weapons and wires.
