N Texas Division Qualifier Y14 and U16 events

FRED Announces the N Texas Division Qualifier Y14 and U16 events The Annual North Texas Division meeting will be held April 12 after the last event, but not later than 7 PM, at FIT (see details after competition information). ------------ COMPETITION INFORMATION ------------------- Fencers must be competitive members of North Texas Division. You are not fully registered until you have PAID. There is a $50 late fee for fencers paying after the preregistration closing of APRIL 8, 2008, at 8 PM. Summer Nationals will be held July 1-10, 2008, in San Jose, California. USFA memberships will be available at the door. Payment is to the USFA and MUST BE CHECK OR CREDIT CARD - NO CASH WILL BE ACCEPTED. Per North Texas Division regulations, it is the fencer's responsibility to bring PROOF OF MEMBERSHIP AND CLASSIFICATION. If you do not have your membership card, email the USFA (information@usfencing.org) and request an email verification. Fencers must have a properly signed NORTH TEXAS DIVISION WAIVER to compete. Within the same class and year, randomly Format: * One round of pools; 100% promoted out of pools * No repechage * DE bout format: 15 touches in three 3-minute segments. In saber, bouts are fenced to 15 touches, with a 1-minute break when the first fencer reaches 8 touches. * If three or fewer fencers register for an event, that event will not be fenced and all registrants will qualify; however, fencers must still pay registration and event fees. Birth years for summer national competitions are: * Division I-1, II, and III - Born in or before 1994 * Veteran Open (V40) - Born on or before 1967 * Vet 50-60 - 09/01/1958 - 09/02/1948 * Vet 60+ - Born before 09/02/1948 * Under 19 - 1989-1995 * Under 16 - 1992-1994 * Youth 14 - 1993- 1996 * Youth 12 - 1995 - 1998 * Youth 10 - 1997 - 2000 Division II/III Qualifier will be held April 5-6, 2008, at FIT. You must pre-register on askfred (see that tournament listing). * DIVISION II - Fencers must have a classification in the weapon of C, D, E or Unclassified at the time of the qualifying competition AND meet age requirements as above AND place in the top 25% of the current season's Division Qualifying competition * DIVISION III - Fencers must have a classification in the weapon of D, E or unclassified at the time of the qualifying competition AND meet age requirements as above AND place in the top 25% of the total number of D, E, or Unrated fencers competing in the current season Division's Division II Qualifying competition when Division II and Division III qualifying competition held together Division I-A and Under 19 Qualifiers will be held at the Section tournament in El Paso, May 3-4, 2008.
