    Events Scheduled:
Women's Combined Div II/Div III Epee Women's Combined Div II/III Foil Women's Combined Div II/Div III Saber Men's Combined Div II/III Epee Men's Combined Div II/Div III Foil Men's Combined Div II/Div III Saber Women's Team Epee Women's Team Foil Women's Team Saber Men's Team Epee Men's Team Foil Men's Team Saber Participants must be competitive members of the Louisiana Division and the USFA. USFA rules apply. USFA membership required. Membership available on site. Masks will be checked. Proper fencing attire required according to USFA rules. All events will be fenced electric. Saber blades must have the 2000 approved mark. Events with two or less competitors will not be fenced unless time permits. These are the qualification procedures that relate to the Divisional Competition. For complete qualification procedures contact the USFA or Division Chair.
    DIVISION II Qualification for Nationals:
Fencers must have a classification in the weapon of “C”, “D”, “E”, or Unclassified at the time of the qualifying competition AND born no later than 1993 AND – • Place in the top 25% of the 2006 Division Qualifying competition OR • Qualify for Division I-A National Championships OR • Qualify for the 2006 Under – 19 National Championships in that weapon OR • Qualify for the 2006 Under – 16 National Championships in that weapon OR • Placed in the top 4 at the 2005 Division III National Championships
    DIVISION III Qualification for Nationals:
Fencers must have a classification in the weapon of “D”, “E”, or Unclassified at the time of the qualifying competition AND have been born no later than 1993 AND – • Qualify for Division II • Place in the top 25% of the total number of “D, “E” or “U” fencers competing in the 2006 Division’s Division II Qualifying competition (when Division II and Division III qualifying competition is held together) OR • If separate Division III qualifying competition is held by the Division, then the top 25% of the field will qualify for Division III National Championships OR • Qualify for Division I-A National Championships in that weapon OR • Qualify for the 2006 Under – 19 National Championships in that weapon OR • Qualify for the 2006 Under – 16 National Championships in that weapon
    Veterans Qualifications for Nationals:
Any current competitive member born 1965 or earlier who has competed in • 2006 Section Championships OR • 2006 Division qualifying competition for Division II and/or Division III Championships {only those with a “C” classification or lower (D, E, or U) may compete} OR • Any NAC During the 2005-2006 season • Fencer must state on the entry the competition by which he or she complied with qualification criteria and which Veteran Event/Age Group they are entering.     Divisional Meeting
A Divisional meeting for the election of all post but Treasurer for the 2006/2008 term will be held at approximately Noon (pending on a break in the fencing events). If you are interested in running for the office or have someone you would like to elect to be put on the ballot please contact me before Saturday of the election to facilitate the voting procedures. Please contact me if you have questions about the election or officer position. Current officers for the 2005 season are: Chair - Jonathan Cohen (New Orleans) Vice-Chair - Ed Karp (New Orleans) Vice-Chair –John Periot (Lafayette) Secretary – Nancy Exnicios (New Orleans) Treasurer – Trey Ragan Function of Division Officers -To hold Divisional Qualifiers for Junior Olympics and Summer Nationals -To schedule, operate and support division events -To maintain Division Fencing equipment for tournaments -To encourage fencing within the division Voting Procedures If not more than one nomination is made for any office, the current secretary of the division shall cast a unanimous ballot at the annual meeting for the candidate nominated. If two nominations are made for any office, voting shall be made either in person or by proxy and the candidate receiving the majority of the votes cast shall be declared elected. In the event that three or more candidates are nominated for any office, and no candidate receives a majority vote, a run-off election shall be conducted between the two candidates receiving the most ballots in the first round and the winner shall be declared elected. If the voting in either a regular or run-off election for any office results in a tie, a lot shall be cast and the winner declared elected. Directions to Christ Episcopal Middle School are as follows: from New Orleans: take Causeway ... once in Mandeville, go about 3 miles and take the I-12 West (Hammond) approach ... about 5 miles later, take Exit 59 (Madisonville/Covington) ... stay on your left and turn left at the light ... go under the overpass and go another mile on Highway 21 South ... after passing a fire station on your left, the Christwood Blvd sign will appear on you left ...turn onto Christwood Blvd. and after 1/4 mile the school becomes evident ... the green building is the gym. From Slidell and Mississippi: take I-12 West (Hammond) and exit on Exit 59 (Madisonville/Covington) ... stay on your left and turn left at the light ... go under the overpass and drive another mile on Highway 21 South ... after passing a fire station on your left, the Christwood Blvd. sign will appear on your left ... turn onto Christwood Blvd. and after 1/4 mile the school becomes evident ... the green building is the gym. From Baton Rouge: take I-12 East (Slidell) and exit on Exit 59 (Madisonville/Covington) ... stay on your right and merge onto Highway 21 South ... drive about a mile and after passing a fire station on your left, the Christwood Blvd. sign will appear on your left ... turn onto Christwood Blvd. and after 1/4 mile the school becomes evident ... the green building is the gym.
