The Alice B Memorial is a USFA Regional Open Circuit sponsored by Bayou City Fencing Academy. Top 10% (minimum of 4) in each DIV II event qualify for DIV II at 2012 Summer Nationals. Fencers Qualifying for DIV II through the ROC who are eligible to fence DIV III can also qualify through DIV II events. Veterans qualify for Veteran National Championship by fencing in any ROC event be it DIV II or VET during the current season. Div2 - open to any fencer who, regardless of nationality, born 1998 or before, or on the Junior National Rolling Points List, AND with rating no higher than "C." Top 10% of the competitive field qualify for 2012 Div2 National Championships. Fencers who qualify for Div2 and meet classification requirements for Div3 will also qualify for Div3. Veteran - open to any fencer who, regardless of nationality, meets the age eligibity criteria, i.e. born 1971 or earlier. Veterans qualify for Veteran National Championships by fencing in any ROC event, be it Div 1A, Div2, or Veteran, during the current season. All events mixed. • USFA or other fencing federation membership,or FIE license required. 1-year memberships expired July 31, 2011. Must present membership card (or proof of membership payment) at check-in. If no proof of membership you must complete and pay for USFA membership. You may join or renew USFA at the door (parent signature required for fencers under age 18), however please arrive with a completed form or plan to come early to complete required paperwork. Have separate checks made out to USFA or use your credit card (preferred) for USFA membership payment. Please do not send cash. FORMAT INFORMATION • Only official (i.e. published on the USFA website)USFA ratings will be used for initial seeding. Check your rating prior to the event and if there are discrepancies you must resolve the issue with USFA. Only an official response from USFA will override the ratings published on the USFA website. • ROC initial seeding using Classification/year. • One round of pools with 100% promotion to Direct Elimination rounds. • No fence-off for third place (two third place medals awarded) • Medals awarded to 8th place (ROC) • Fencers are responsible for ensuring accuracy of all posted information and must report errors to the bout committee immediately. Fencer signature on pool score sheets and DE bout slip implies accuracy. Any mistakes in posted information throughout the tournament must be reported to the Bout Committee immediately (within 5 minutes of posting). EQUIPMENT All weapons will be scored electrically. Equipment (masks, lames, and electric cords) will be inspected and marked. Waiver of Liability ***All participants must sign a Waiver of Liability form which can be found on the Gulf Coast Division Website. Fencers under age 18 must have a parent's signature on this form. The Fencing Store will be open for equipment sales during the tournament. FOOD Breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be available at the concession stand for purchase.
