SoCal Scholastic League Team Foil / Epee / Saber

Middle Schools and High Schools are welcome to sign up their 3-4 member team representatives. Have your coach or team captain sign up your team. Teams will fence off for 1st through 3rd places. Events are restricted by academic standing, not age. Events are open to Middle and High School teams. Each team member must bring school ID and proof of USFA membership. Middle School: 6th grade to 8th grade High School: 9th grade to 12th grade Teams must pay their League dues to Ted Katzoff. Email him at: ted.katzoff1@verizon.net Non-League schools: If your school does not have a team or if your school is not part of the SoCal Scholastic Fencing League, you can still form a composite team for the corresponding school category. Non-League Schools - Fee is $50 per team. (Only cash or check accepted, to be paid at tournament) Reminder: Each school can send one Varsity A Team to compete. All Varsity A High School Fencers must have fenced in either or both the #1 or #2 Individual SoCal Scholastic League Foil / Epee / Saber events to be considered for the High School Varsity ‘A’ Team event. Bring USFA Card (Proof of Membership) and School ID Card. Team Categories below are by Weapon and gender specific. Equipment: A full fencing Jacket (FIE not required), a plastron, a glove, and fencing knickers. Socks must cover all the leg not covered by the knickers. Women's equipment must include breast protectors made of metal or rigid material inside the jacket. The appropriate glove, lame and mask for the weapon being fenced are required. Please wear shoes with “non-marking” or white soles to all competitions. All foil fencers must have a conductive foil bib on their mask, and all saber fencers must use a USFA Fencing approved 800N glove. Inspections: Masks and gloves will be inspected by the armorer. Weapons will be tested on the strip. You will not be allowed to fence with weapons that do not conform to USFA standards.
