Duel Under the Oaks 2024

This the second annual Duel Under the Oaks fencing tournament, hosted by the League City Fencers Club (Rogue Fencers Guild). This is designed as a low stress, easy introduction to the world of fencing tournaments. As a result of this goal, and the fact that the venue is small, as events have caps. The two senor events will max out at 14 competitors each. The youth events will cap out at 7 competitors each.

Birth Year Requirements

If a fencer's USA Fencing membership card does not show their birth date as "Verified: Yes" (see back of card), they must bring proof of age to registration. Passports, birth certificates, and other government-issued IDs are acceptable; school IDs are not.

All USFA Fencing rules apply. USA Fencing Access Level Membership required.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

All events will be one round of pools with 100% promotion to direct eliminations.

For Y10 direct elimination bouts are 10 touch bouts (2 three minute periods with 1 minute break in between). During the 1 minute break, ONE person, designated by the fencer (a teammate, coach, or parent), may be on the strip with the fencer.

For Y12, Y14 and Senior events, DE bouts are 15 touch bouts (3 three minute periods with a 1 minute break between). During the 1 minute breaks, ONE person, designated by the fencer (a teammate, coach, or parent), may be on the strip with the fencer.

Awards will be presented to the top 4 finishers in each event
