LOCATION: The Womanâs Club of Bakersfield (WCB) and
Kern Athletic Fencing Foundation (KAFF) Fencing Studio

VENUE: Plenty of free street parking surrounds this historic building in downtown Bakersfield, plus a small parking lot north of the building off âDâ street. An ample equipment room is available for fencing bags. Spectator seating is limited. Eight strips are planned in the WCB Ballroom at the ground floor level. Some events or bouts may be held in the upstairs fencing studio and there is no elevator in building. Strips are on finished wood, similar to gym flooring. Doors will open at 8:00 a.m.
REGISTRATION: Cost is $25 per event (limit 2 events) with paid pre-registration on AskFred.net by May 1, 2020. At-the-door registration is $35 per event, payable by cash or check. Current USA Fencing competitive membership is required, and fencers must be born in 2006 or earlier to compete.
CHECK-IN: Check-in will be open for one hour before the stated time of the event.
FORMAT: This is a self-refereeâd tournament. There will be one round of pools with 100% promotion to direct elimination, and no fence-off for 3rd place. Medals will be awarded to top four finishers in each event. As a sanctioned tournament, USA Fencing ratings may be earned.
EQUIPMENT: Full fencing uniform is required: jacket, under-arm protector, fencing knickers, socks covering legs below the knickers, shoes with non-marking soles. Fencer must use the appropriate glove, lame and mask for weapon being fenced. Saber fencers must use USA Fencing approved 800N glove. Chest protectors are required for women. For foil events, chest protectors must have foam padding per USA Fencing standards and bear FIE or armorerâs mark. Masks & gloves will be checked by the armorer.
