The Banana Tournament Returns!! These are Unsanctioned, free events for fencers who are ok being self refereed and are looking to essentially get a more competitive practice event in, all are welcome!
With the return of the Banana Tournaments we will be starting the Banana League:
The Banana League is a series of Foil Fencing tournaments run by YELFC. These are self-refereed and unsanctioned. Banana League Points will be used to determine seeding for each subsequent Banana Tournament as well as the Glorious Banana Tournament that will happen once every four tournaments. Seeding will be determined by the top 3 results of a fencer in a normal Banana tournament. The Glorious Banana will be a combined tournament with rewards for the highest finishing fencers from each category of the normal Banana's those being:
Division 1:
D-Rated:
E and Under:
Y-12:
Winners will have their name written on the trophy and Glorious Banana winners may receive prizes
Please remember, Banana Tournaments are UNSANCTIONED and are PARTIALLY REFEREED, this means that the majority of your bouts will be self reffed, meaning the two fencers will need to decide and agree. Referees will be there and can be asked to referee on request but anyone signing up for this competition should know how to make correct calls and feel either comfortable in their knowledge of the sport enough to fence this way or being ok with more experienced fencers telling them the call.
These events are designed to be a fun, silly and yet competitive way to get extra practice for any foil fencers who can attend.
