Payment should be made on AskFRED when you register. Registration fees are non-refundable. Refunds of event fees can be requested at http://www.raincityfencing.com/event-refund-request-form. Please do not cancel your preregistration on AskFRED first; doing so will delay the refund process! Refunds must be requested at and necessary information provided no later than two weeks after the event. No refunds will be issued after May 13th, 2018. All fencers must bring the attached waiver signed by the fencer and their parent or guardian. Follow this link to pre-register on AskFRED: http://askfred.net/Events/Prereg/prereg.php?tournament_id=38749 ---------- Venue Information ---------- The event will be held at: Rain City Fencing Center 1776 136th Place NE Bellevue, WA 98005 (425) 747-6300 For directions, see http://www.raincityfencing.com/about-us/contact/ ---------- Tournament Rules ---------- All events will be fenced as a single round of pools, followed by straight direct-elimination (10-touch for Y10, 15-touch for Y12 and Y14), no fence-off for third. Fencers may not fence in two simultaneous events under any circumstances. Fencers who do not report to strip after their third call will be scratched from the event. Medals will be awarded to the top 8 finishers in each event. All fencers must be current competitive members of USA Fencing or their national federation. Foreign fencers must have a USFA membership number, which can be obtained for free by signing up for a "foreign membership" on https://member.usafencing.org/signup. Full regulation uniform according to USA Fencing rules is required, including plastron, knickers, and knee-length socks. No jeans or sweatpants allowed. Names are NOT required on fencer uniforms. Masks with electric bibs are required for all foil events. All saber fencers must wear 800N gloves. For epee, a conductive surface can ground out the opponent's weapon. Epee fencers may NOT wear electric foil masks. Two-weapon fencers must have two masks, or a mask with an exchangeable bib. For Youth-10 events, a 30" or 32" blade is required. For Youth-12 and Youth-14 events, a standard 30"-35" blade is permitted. ---------- Age Eligibility ---------- Eligibility is based on birth year, regardless of the specific day/month: Youth-10: Born in 2007 through 2010 Youth-12: Born in 2005 through 2008 Youth 14: Born in 2003 through 2006 Fencers with Youth-10 national points are eligible to fence in the Youth-12 events. Fencers with Youth-12 national points are eligible to fence in the Youth-14 events. If your USA Fencing membership card does not indicate "DOB: VERIFIED", please bring a form of government-issued ID or photocopy of a birth certificate for age verification. ---------- Event Seeding ---------- Fencer classifications, club and division affiliations, and national point rankings will be validated against the USA Fencing membership database as of April 24, 2018. It is the fencer's responsibility to ensure that USA Fencing has properly recorded any necessary changes or corrections prior to that date. No classification or club affiliation changes will be made at the event. In all events, all ranked fencers (those possessing national points) will be seeded ahead of unranked fencers, regardless of classification. All unranked fencers will be seeded by classification letter and year. ---------- Equipment Check ---------- Please arrive early to allow time for equipment checks. We will be checking masks, lames, body cords, gloves, and foil/saber mask cords. Equipment check hours are: Thursday: 7:30pm - 9:00pm Friday: 7:30am - 8:00pm Saturday: 7:30am until the last event finishes Sunday: 7:30am until the last event finishes Monday: 7:30am - 3:00pm During the morning equipment checks, we will only check equipment for the events starting in the morning. Guests staying at the Fairfield, Courtyard, and Residence Inn (all three hotels are adjacent to each other) are encouraged to take the shuttle to avoid the tight parking situation at Rain City. Look for the sign indicating the meeting point in the parking lot in front of the Fairfield Inn. The shuttle will operate on a loop and should make the circuit every 15-20 minutes. The shuttle will run during these hours: Friday: 7:30am - 7:00pm Saturday: 7:30am - 7:00pm Sunday: 7:30am - 6:30pm Monday: 7:30am - 5:00pm The shuttle stop will be marked with a sign and will be near the Fairfield Inn. If you are staying at the Courtyard or Residence Inn, the shuttle stop will be within walking distance so please look for the sign. Our shuttle will NOT be stopping at the Hampton Inn. They have their own shuttle which may be available as-needed, but it should not be relied upon. ---------- Airport ---------- Seattle is served by Sea-Tac International Airport (SEA) which is 20 miles from the venue.
