The event will be similar to the GA Tech "Hack n Slash" event with an individual event that will help seed for the team event. Event Fee is $30 per fencer per weapon (College Fencers $5 first event)
Come participate in our newly redesigned Athens Spring Duel now with a team event! This event will be similar to the GA Tech "Hack n Slash" event which consists of both a modified individual event and a collegiate style team event.
Format:
Individual events - Pools followed by either Top 8 fencers move on to DE's or top 25% (if more that 32 fencers).
Team events - Seeding is based off of the individual event results. Team matches will be collegiate style (Best 5-9 bouts 5 point matches3/min). Fence off for 3rd.
Youth Team Event - team pools followed by team DE (collegiate style bouts to 5 points/3min)
*Teams of 2 are allowed, but will have automatic team bout defeats.
*Composite teams are allowed, but please try to make teams with clubmates!
Medals for Top 4 individual and Top 3 for team.
Event Fee: $30 per fencer per "weapon event" (College fencers get $5 off first event)
*Event fee covers both the individual and team for the weapon they are fencing
This tournament is unsanctioned, but will require USA Fencing membership and USA Fencing rules such as 800N FIE glove for saber.
We will allow referees to fence and ref during the event.
