This seminar/discussion will begin at 9:30 CST look at calls, actions, and rules in context for all 3 weapons. It is open and free, in person and zoom. This is NOT a referee certification seminar.
This seminar/roundtable is free for all, and sponsored by the St. Louis Fencing Club.
Alex Gioiella is a 3 weapon national referee, a former CRI, and a current CRO. Alex spent 4 years as part of the DRDC of the RC and continues to spend time mentoring junior referees and attempting to grow the referee cadre in the midwest and beyond.
This seminar/roundtable is being offered in person and by Zoom to any who wishes to participate. We will examine calls, actions, rule application, and strip management for athletes, coaches, and referees. Anyone can hop in at any time via zoom, and leave at any time. There is no minimum requirement to be there, and we will go until the questions have been exhausted.
For anyone participating in person, we ask that you bring your fencing equipment so that you can act out actions in person as well as help to create opportunities for others to referee calls and get real-time feedback.

Priority is being given to members who live in Region 2, the Hawaii Division, the Alaska Division, and NJ High School fencers looking to become referees, but all are welcome to attend, ask questions, and engage.
