Rice Collegiate Fencing Clinic

Rice Fencing Club is hosting a fencing clinic specifically for collegiate fencers on November 7th 10AM-4PM at Rice University East Gym (Tudor Field House, not the rec center!). College fencers of all skill level are welcome. The camp will focus on training and how to practice fencing effectively. The morning's portion will focus on conditioning & footwork along with talking about biomechanics, how to avoid injury, and how different exercises benefit the fencer. In the afternoon, coaches will break fencers into groups by weapon. Throughout the day, coaches will talk about the why of the techniques and exercises being used. Our goal is for fencers to walk away with not just a comprehensive training session, but also more insight into how to get the most out of their practice time. Coaches: Pelham Keahey Liz Mayerich Daniel Gorman Registration fee: $20 Please preregister, so we have an idea of how many are coming. Lunch will be provided. Waivers must signed at the door prior to participation. We recommend fencers park in West lot if carpooling ($11/day) or Greenbrier lot by the stadium (little bit of a walk, but only $1/day).
