All veteran saber fencers who are preparing for national and international competitions are invited to join us for a Pre-World Championship Veteran Sabre Camp with Maitre David Sierra!

Join us for a Pre-World Championship Veteran Sabre Camp with Maitre David Sierra! We are excited to invite all veteran saber fencers who are preparing for national and international competitions, including the Vet World Championships in Bahrain in October 2025, to train together. This Veteran Sabre Camp will be led by experienced Sabre Coach and Maître d'Armes David Sierra. Maître Sierra (also the Head Coach of the Division 1 NCAA program at Wagner College) has coached veteran-age sabre athletes to more than 30 medals in North American Cups including multiple team championships. Maître Sierra is deeply committed to expanding access to training opportunities for Veteran fencers. He brings a dynamic and exciting focus with a deep understanding of the modern sabre game.

Each day of the camp will entail a mix of tactical games and drills, directed bouting, video review, and psychological preparation for competition tailored specifically for veteran-age athletes. There will be theoretical and roleplaying scenarios, along with "real world" practical exercises and situations. There will be breaks built into the schedule! The registration fee also covers healthy snacks, lunches on Saturday and Sunday, as well as the team dinner at a local private residence on Saturday evening. Our goal is to bring as many people training for Veteran World Championships together as possible and also provide good training to any competitive level veteran-age fencer looking to up their game. You will leave this camp a better sabre fencer than you started and make new friends and contacts within the exciting world of veteran sabre fencing!

Full uniform and bouting equipment is required for participation.

Cost is $500 if paid in advance on askFRED by 8/4/2025. $600 at the door. Includes in-clinic snacks, lunch on Saturday and Sunday, and Saturday evening dinner.

One-on-one lessons are available to participants in the clinic. Please email David Sierra - Sierra.sabre@gmail.com to reserve a spot. Lessons are $70 each, payable directly to the coach.
