NC Division Observer Training

NC Division of USA Fencing requires trained Observers to help clubs and sanctioned events run smoothly and within set standards. Come take Observer training to help make meets happen.
GFA is proud to host NC Division Observer Training on March 30, 2025 at 12PM. This free training will cover all the requirements and standards for a sanctioned meet within our division to be successful.
An Observer is required to preside any events approved and sanctioned by NC Division. For event results to be accepted by the national office and for fencer classifications to be processed, a strict standard must be maintained. Observers must also be unaffiliated with the club hosting the sanctioned meet to remove bias.
The material will take approximately two hours to cover with question-and-answer sessions included. Attending in person will give us a chance to connect and interact, and the training will be enriched with more voices in the room. A virtual session may be possible, but logistics are yet to be solved. Stay tuned for more information.
GFA welcomes any parents, supporters, fencers, coaches, and referees to consider coming to this training. We need Observers to support sanctioned fencing in our division, and this is an opportunity to help grow the sport.
We will attempt to run a Google Meet video conference, but we cannot guarantee complete coverage of all materials. If you have the ability to attend in person, you will get full content. If you choose to attend virtually, please be patient as we work through any technical difficulties.
