Referee Certification Clinic with FIE referee Hisham Abdelaziz

IMPORTANT INFO:

Seminar is 4 hours long and will be accelerated due to time constrictions. In order to push through on this short timeline, there will be no intermissions, and no lateness allowed. Please make sure you arrive on time.

If you are registering for online, please email me as soon as you register at hisham.abdelaziz92@gmail.com and I will send you the Google Meet link the day of the seminar.

The clinic will start 5pm Central time for both online and in-person, please arrive 15 minutes early to make sure we can start on time.

If you'd like to get observed for a rating, there will be observation available at the club Saturday from 9am-12pm.

WHO CAN ATTEND:

New referees: Attending a referee seminar is the first step to becoming a certified USA Fencing referee. Attendance is required in order to become a referee.

Coaches: You can benefit by staying up to date on current rules and how calls have transformed in recent years.

Parents: Being aware of all the rules and all that is expected of referees helps you better assist your fencers in knowing their rights on the strip

Referees: Whether active or inactive, seminars help referees to stay current, or brush up if they've been inactive

WHO IS HOSTING:

Referee Hisham Abdelaziz has been refereeing for 18 years, and is FIE rated in Foil and Epee, as well as nationally rated in all 3 weapons. He has experience as a fencer, coach, and referee, offering a perspective that all attendees can understand and relate to.

Hisham has been refereeing internationally for 6 years, and has refereed many Junior World Cups, Senior World Cups, and Grand Prix's.

Seminar will begin at 5pm Central Time, 6pm Eastern Time, 3pm Pacific Time.

PARKING:

Red Door Fencing is located in the building with the "Kind is Cool" mural on the side. You may park in the lot in front of the mural (the spaces are marked as reserved, but we are allowed to use them).  Street parking is also available, but will cost money.  Our door is on E 3rd St, directly across from the Iowa Taproom.  Head inside and down the stairs to find us!

PAYMENT:

Cost of attendance is $100, regardless of in-person or online. Payment will be accepted through Apple Pay, Venmo, and Zelle.
