Pre-Nationals Sabre Fencing Camp at Durkan Fencing Academy - RIDGEWOOD NJ
This specialized camp is designed to prepare athletes for the USA Fencing Summer Nationals Competition. Training emphasizes focused conditioning, tactics, and bout readiness. Intensive sabre bouting practice with experienced fencers.
Participation in Summer Nationals is not required—all fencers looking to elevate their game are welcome.
Day Camp Schedule
WEEK #1
Monday June 15th to June 19th
9am to 4pm
====SAMPLE DAY SCHEDULE====
9am - warm-up and stretching
9:30am Footwork Instruction
10:30am - 12:30pm Tactical Drills (bladework, defensive techniques such as distance or blade parry, how-to break distance, perfecting offensive tactics such as long attacks, counter attacks, attack-in-prep, etc)
12:30-1pm - Video analysis of National and International Sabre Fencing Bouts (5- and 15-touch bouts)
1pm to 2pm - Lunch
2pm to 4pm - Structured Bouting Practice (i.e. practice pool rounds, practice tournament)
CAMP FEE: $650/week (non-Durkan Fencing Academy member)
DAY RATE: $150/day
