This three-hour clinic will be focused on the middle-game of sabre fencing - the battle for control just after the referee says “fence!” and the athletes begin their actions.

Clinic Curriculum:

This three-hour clinic will be focused on the middle-game of sabre fencing - the battle for control just after the referee says “fence!” and the athletes begin their actions. Participants will engage in discussions of the theory of “in the box” fencing, exercises to learn the different ways to control the rhythm and timing of the first moment of a sabre touch, and bouting practice to take the subjects taught and perform them in a fencing scenario. By the end of the clinic, all participants will go home with new ideas and understanding of how to approach the crucial first tempo in sabre fencing.
