Intensive Pre-National Fencing Training Camp with Coach HyungWoo Cha, member of Korean National Team (2004 ~ 2012)

Pre-Nationals Fencing Camp with Coach Hyung Woo Cha is an intensive training program designed to prepare fencers for upcoming Summer National Championship hosted by the Orlando Fencing Academy. The space is limited to 16 and summer national qualified fencers will have priority. This intensive high performance Camp will be held from June 15 ~ 19 with training from 10:00 am-2:00 pm each day. Early drop-off and late pick-up are also available. Each day will include: Warm-up Stretching Physical Training including: Footwork/Bladework skill development Specialized Instruction by weapon Structured Bouting Due to the current COVID-19 situation, we will be asking those who have symptoms to stay at home. The temperature of every participants and parents (who will be entering the club) will be checked every day during the camp. We encourage the parents to drop off the fencers and pick them up later but if you would choose to stay during the training, it's mandatory to wear mask. The fencers are not required to wear mask, however, if they wish to wear it, they can. The masks and hand sanitizers will be available during the camp. He was a member of Jr. Korean National team between 1994 ~ 1997, Korean National Team Reserve between 1998 ~ 2003 and Korean National Team between 2004 ~ 2012. While he was fencing competitively he has won numerous medals national and international levels. His most notable accomplishments including 5th place in 2004 SK Grand Prix (Seoul, Korea), Gold medal in 2005 World Open in Singapore, Silver medal in 2006 Asian Game, 5th place in 2006 Russia Grand Prix (St. Petersburg, Russia), Gold medal in 2007 World Open in Singapore, Gold medal in 2008 World Open in Singapore. Also he was Korean National Champion for 5 times (in 1994, 1998, 2002, 2007, 2008), Silver medalist for 8 times(in 1992, 1993, 1995, 1997, 2004, 2006, 2009, 2010) and Bronze medalist for 4 times(1999, 2001, 2003, 2013). After his retirement as competitor, he served as a head coach of Men’s’ and Women’s Fencing Team of Anhui Providence in China between 2015 ~ 2017. Currently he is working as private fencing coach for various inspired fencers. Cha is certified teacher, fencing coach and referee recognized by Korea Department of Education and Korean Fencing Federation. ========================ABOUT ORLANDO FENCING ACADEMY========================= Our fencing gym features custom 4 FIE Grounded Strips. Our facility includes a classroom with Wi-Fi, and locker rooms. Our mission at Orlando Fencing Academy is to provide an environment that includes physical and mental challenges so fencers can enjoy all aspects of fencing. We put our emphasis on the development of young fencers for recreational and competitive purposes by customizing each class.
