2026 Western NY Junior Olympics Qualifiers

This is the Western NY Division Junior Olympic Qualifier. Junior Olympics will be held January. 9-12, 2026 in Kansas City, MO. Full event information for JOs can be found here: https://www.usafencing.org/2026-junior-olympics

Please note that this qualifier is scheduled after the regular registration deadline for JOs. Per USA Fencing, we recommend that all fencers register for JOs before November 5. Fencers who do not qualify will receive a refund for any events they did not qualify for. Please see information belwo from USA Fencing regarding registration refunds.

If three or fewer competitors are signed up for an event, all of the fencers qualify automatically. You must sign up on AskFred before the deadline of Thursday, November 6, to be considered an entry. NO LATE ENTRIES ALLOWED.

All fencers must have a current USA Fencing Membership (competitive, collegiate competitive, access, coach, or life) and must provide their membership number upon registration.

Registration is $5. If there are more than three fencers registered for an event, a fence-off will occur. In this case, there will be a $20 event fee. Individuals will be contacted on Friday, November 7th, regarding their registration and qualification (i.e., if the event needs to be held or not).

ADDED OCTOBER 24, 2025 -- REFUND POLICIES FROM USA FENCING

Refund Policy Exception – Qualification-Dependent Events

If a qualifying competition takes place after the regular fee entry deadline but before the qualification deadline and an athlete does not qualify:

1. Single-Event Registration: If registered for only one event, the event fee, the tournament and administrative fees will be refunded. In the event this is applicable for a given athlete, they should email nationalevents@usafencing.org to request a full refund.
2. Multiple-Event Registration: If registered and qualified for other events, only the event fee for the non-qualified event will be refunded.

Withdrawal Refund Policy

For a refund of 50% of the event fee(s), all withdrawals must be received by the National Office by the posted withdrawal deadline. Registration and processing fees are nonrefundable and nontransferable. To withdraw from a national tournament, email withdrawals@usafencing.org with the athlete/team name, member number, and events from which you are withdrawing. No event fee refunds will be given for withdrawals after the posted withdrawal deadline. To withdraw from a local or regional tournament, please email the listed tournament organizer. Contact information is located on their registration page. Regional withdrawal and refund policies may vary from tournament to tournament but can not be more stringent than the national policy listed above.
