2024-25 SoCal Division Summer National Qualifiers

A Southern California Division hosted event. All grounded strips. All professional referees.

Check-in

1. Posted times are preliminary.  They may be adjusted based on pre-registration on AskFred.  Please check AskFred on 3/1/2025 to see if your event times have changed.
2. Bring your USA Fencing ID and, if not age-verified, proof of age (see below)

Registration & Entry Fees

The first 8 fencers (and parents/siblings) who email admin@socaldivision.org to help setup will have their entry fees waived. Setup starts at 7:00 AM on 3/2/2025.

1. Pre-registration on AskFred, closing on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 11:59PM (Pacific): $60 per event
2. Waiver fees will be considered for fencers who have financial hardships. Please contact admin@socaldivision.org for consideration.
3. Registrations that are unpaid as of Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 11:59PM (Pacific) will be removed
4. At the door: $120 per event (credit card and Zelle accepted), for events not cancelled at the end of preregistration. Zelle: treasurer@socaldivision.org please provide name of fencer and event

Event Groups

1. Y-14 birth year 2010-2013 or Y12 National Points

All fencers who are not Age Verified on their USA membership MUST provide proof of age (birth certificate, passport) at check-in.  We recommend all fencers complete USA Fencing’s age verification process at least one week prior to the tournament.

1. Div2: Born 2011 or earlier, and a rating of C, D, E or U
2. Div3: Born 2011 or earlier, and a rating of D, E or U

Please note that Div2 and Div3 events are combined.

National Qualifying Events

These events are restricted to:

1. Current members of the Southern California Division of USA Fencing
2. US Citizens or Permanent Residents
3. If you are already pre-qualified to compete in your event(s) in the Summer Nationals by regional or national points, you do not have to compete in this tournament.
4. Only fencers who are pre-qualified by national points are skipped in determining qualifiers from this event.

6. The 2025 Summer Nationals are scheduled to be held June 28, 2025 to July 7, 2025 in Milwaukee, WI

Close of Pre-Registration

At close of pre-registration on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 11:59PM (Pacific)

1. Incomplete or unpaid pre-registrations will be deleted.
2. Events with fewer than 4 fencers will be cancelled.
3. Those pre-registered fencers in cancelled events will qualify for their event at Summer Nationals and be eligible for a refund.

Format

All events: At least one round of pools, 100%* promoted to direct elimination.

*may be adjusted to less than 100% if required (this has never been required.)

Medals

Medals are awarded to the top 3 places in all events, including ties for 3rd place.
