Join us for the SIFA Championships 2026 held in Athens, GA! This event is for college students only. Please see more info on details and restrictions.

Cost of the event per fencer: $30 per fencer (Includes both individual and team events per fencer)

Teams can have up to a max of 4 fencers.  Combined teams can work out the split between the schools and must be approved by the organizer (Allen Schneider).

Schools may only provide 1 team per weapon gender (ex. Schools can only provide 1 Men's Epee Team). There may be exceptions if the school joining is a new school, or if certain events need more teams to join.

Format:

The format for SIFA will be a tweaked version of CFCs format.  The goal is to have it where colleges can get a good amount of fencing, but also get done in time especially for colleges driving 5+ hours.

  1. Pools will start off as a traditional individual format instead of team format.  After pools, the top 8 fencers out of pools will be promoted to do individual DEs.  This may change based on number of fencers, strips, and when the gym has to close.  We will do medals for top 4 individuals.  For events that have more than 32 individual fencers, fencers in the top 25% out of pool seedings will be promoted to DEs.
  2. After the individual round is done, we will do a ~1 hour lunch break for everyone.
  3. After lunch break, we will do Team DEs with collegiate format (best 5 out of 9) No fencing off for place except for 3rd place. Seedings for DEs will be determined by the individual pool results.  We will calculate data from each teams' combined top 3 fencers.  Trophies for top 3 teams.
  4. For teams that do not have a full squad (ex. teams with only 1 or 2 women saberists), we can allow them to fence the individual portion of the day, and we can allow teams of only 2 fencers (however, the team will have automatic losses in their matches without a 3rd fencer).  We can also allow combined squads which must be made prior to the start tournament.

USAFencing rules will apply including P-Cards, 800N saber gloves, foil soft chest plates, etc.
