ARNOLD MORE INFO The Tenth Annual Arnold Fencing Classic is an RYC (Y10, Y12 & Y14), Y8, Cadet, Senior and Vet event. RYCs are qualification paths for the 2013 Summer National Championships. VIP CELEBRITY DINNER This year we have a special VIP Celebrity Dinner from 6pm - 8pm on Saturday night featuring dinner with Tim Morehouse. Tim will be presenting along with USFA President Donald K. • USFA membership required for all events except Y8.
• You cannot fence Y8 if you are 9.
• EVERYONE except fencers needs a wristband to get into the Festival. See below.

Days are fixed. THE FESTIVAL Don't just fence, visit for the weekend and enjoy what the event offers. Athletes get free passes to the entire sports festival. ALL PARENTS and supporting individuals must purchase a wristband for access to the festival, which includes fencing. Candidates must submit an essay, be between 13 - 18 and fence at the Arnold. You are encouraged to pre-pay parking prior to your arrival to ensure good parking. http://arnoldsportsfestival.com/parking/ FESTIVAL ADMITTANCE The Arnold Sports Festival requires a ticket to get in. All athletes are given a three-day pass into the festival. All others ( parents, family, coaches, etc ) must obtain a ticket/wristband to get in. The USFA now requires ALL fencers to show a birth certificate or other government-issued identification with a birth date before they fence in their first competition of the tournament. USFA rules apply. Full USFA regulation uniform is required, including plastron, knickers. Y8 & Y10 require either a #0 or #2 blade. Vendors will be on site if you have equipment needs. YOU ARE NOT REGISTERED UNLESS YOU ARE PAID! If your registration is being rejected for age, but you are currently listed on the National Rolling Points for the next lower age, please contact arnold@royalarts.org Waiver of Liability A parent signature is mandatory on both the USFA membership form and the SYC waiver/informed consent. These forms will be available at registration as well as emailed to you with the athlete packet in February. USFA Membership Fencers must be a current competitive USFA or FIE Member. Proof of membership is required. All fencers who begin the registration process on FRED will receive membership status information via askFRED email using most current USFA membership data. Membership information can be found at the following link: http://usfencing.org/us-fencing-membership. Single day memberships are not valid for RYC events, otherwise single day is fine. FORMAT INFORMATION Youth events are gender separated. Cadet and Senior Events are mixed. Y8 and Vet events are gender separated, however, if the number of women is too small, the events will mix. One round of 5-touch/3 minute bout pools. 100% advance to direct elimination rounds. For Y14, Cadet, and Senior, direct elimination bouts are 15 touch/9 minute bouts. For Y10-Y12, direct elimination bouts are 2 of 3 5-touch bouts. Vet elimination bouts are 10 touch/6 minute bouts. EQUIPMENT All weapons will be scored electrically. Equipment (masks, lames, and body cords/head cords) will be inspected and marked. All Y10 events must be fenced with a size 0 or 2 blade.
