  • INDIVIDUAL EVENT AWARDS: Please note that medals are not awarded for SCSFL individual events.  Rather, the cumulative points are tabulated from final results in Individual Events #1 and #2 for the season.  Medals will be awarded 1st through 8th place, at the conclusion of the #2 Individual Events in Foil, Epee and Sabre.  The awards ceremonies will be held immediately following the #2 individual event competitions in the Spring Semester.

  • NOVICE TOURNAMENT CRITERIA: The SCSFL novice tournament (usually held in December) is for fencers with 1 year or less fencing experience. The NOVICE tournament is unsanctioned and no ratings will be awarded. Rated fencers are not eligible to participate, nor are fencers who have previously competed in any previous SoCal Fencing League Novice tournaments.   (Example: if you fenced 2 years of epee and decided to switch to saber, and only fenced saber for 2 months, you are NOT a novice saber fencer.)  Medals will be awarded to top finishers in each novice event.

  • TEAM EVENT QUALIFICATIONS: All Varsity High School Fencers must fence in either/or both the #1 or #2 Individual Events in order to be considered for a High School Varsity "A" Team for the SoCal Scholastic League Team Tournament.  All fencers must fence in at least one SoCal Scholastic League individual event or Novice event to qualify to fence in a Team Event.  Additional TEAM TOURNAMENT qualifications, team level descriptions & fee info applies to team events.  Please review the “more info” page on for those specific dates.
