1st Annual SCAD ATL University Tournament

The first annual SCAD-ATL team hosted local event is happening this year! We're testing the local waters for space for another event, with plans to scale up in the future if the response is positive.

Payment may be rendered onsite via Cash, Venmo, Check, and Credit/Debit card. Refunds will not be given for fencers pulling out of second events after registration has been completed. A-rated fencers will receive a $15 discount. Fencers must complete check in prior to close of registration the day of the event. Event times may be updated slightly as events are filled out to ensure the most efficient running of the tournament. Walk-ins (not preregistered) will be accepted at the discretion of bout committee, evaluating event capacities, and will be subject to double fees.
Eligibility per USA Fencing: Open, Women's and D & Under events - fencers must be 13+ years old; Y-12: Born 2013 - 2016.
***PRIZES*** First place in each event will receive a prize valued at ~$100. Smaller prizes will be given for 2-3rd place.
***Important*** - Since space at the venue is limited, please limit additional persons with the fencer to one (Fencer + Guardian) if possible. Others may be asked to wait outside of the gym for safety reasons.
***Important*** - a waiver will be sent to all preregistrants when prereg closes. Minor athletes, if going without a guardian (like with a friend), will need to bring this signed waiver by their guardian with them or email it to the organizers. Printed copies will be available onsite for everyone.
This event will be held in the Historical Gym at Atlanta International School. Please follow the signs at the entrances of the school to find the Historical Gym, a large building located on the rear of campus by the extended parking.
Rules and regulations as described in the USA Fencing Athlete handbook will be applied for all aspects of the event, including uniform conformance. Please ensure chest protectors have the soft, PVA cover for foil fencing, and all saber gloves must be at least 800N FIE. Equipment will be available for purchase onsite at the tournament from VA Fencing Gear - we highly encourage pre-ordering (www.vafencinggear.com) if you know you need something specific.
