Tournament Structure:
All times are close of registration, fencing to commence immediately afterward.
All fencers will compete in combined weapon pools, followed by a combined DE event. Staggered 50+, 60+ and 70+ DE events will run concurrently as soon as fencers are available.
Veteran event DE's will be a 10 point bout of two 3 minute periods, with a 1 minute break between each or at 5 hits (in sabre).
Veteran events will use #5 weapons.
Veteran events will require legal masks, lames, wires and weapons - only weapons will be tested, the remainder must be adequately functional to the referee’s discretion.
Events require a minimum of 4 fencers to be run, albeit unsanctioned if less than 6.
Events will be fenced mixed, if there are not a minimum number of 6 fencers in each declared gender.
Fees:
These tournaments are part of TFF's Community clubs’ training programs.
Fencers pay a TBD entry fee per event through the AskFRED portal.
There will be an additional admin fee through the AskFRED portal.
For refunds please contact us directly, DO NOT process them through the AskFRED portal or your credit card.
Tournament Rules:
Some of the items mentioned below may seem obvious, but safety is utmost.
All fencers will be required to:
- wear a minimum 350N rated fencing mask, fencing jacket, fencing pants and plastron (1/2 jacket)
- have adequately long socks (no skin showing), chest protector (optional for M events), and a glove in good condition.
- wear decent, well fitting NON-MARKING runners.
- wear proper-sized, tucked-in t-shirts to insure that there isn't any skin showing between jacket edges and pants.
- use well-maintained weapons in good operating condition.
CFF Licenses:
All participating fencers will be required to have their CFF license (or foreign equivalent) for liability reasons.
Licenses can be obtained at: www.fencing.ca
Fencing Equipment:
All participants must have their own gear or borrowed from their club.
TFF will have very limited equipment to borrow during the event, so participants must come prepared with “back up” weapons, lames and wires.
