TFF/TFA 2025-2026 Veteran Team #2
June 7, 2026
507-1952 Kingsway Ave, Port Coquitlam, BC V3C 6C2
Preregistration closes on May 31, 2026
Tri-City Fencing Foundation, in partnership with Tri-City Fencing Academy, is hosting two Veteran All Weapons Team Tournaments this season.
Mixed age and gender teams of three fencers will compete in a team match format as defined by FIE o.97 through o.99.
Events Scheduled Times:
- Veteran Combined Mixed Epee Team - 9:00am
- Veteran Combined Mixed Foil Team - 12:00pm
- Veteran Combined Mixed Sabre Team - 3:00pm
The above are VERY preliminary and event start times and durations may change based on registration - we may need to move one event to Saturday, June 6 evening.
We will email registrants if anything changes.
Age Definitions:
We're using the same age definitions of a Veteran as the world's did in November 2025.
- As an example, the 40-49 age category includes fencers who are 39 years old in the 2025-26 season.
All Women Teams must have an aggregate age of 135 years.
2 Women + 1 Man Teams must have an aggregate age of 140 years.
1 Women + 2 Men Teams must have an aggregate age of 145 years.
All Men Teams must have an aggregate age of 150 years.
Any substitutes must maintain aggregate age.
Tournament Structure:
All times are close of registration, fencing to commence immediately afterward.
Veterans who register for 2 or more events will not be permitted to cause delays to the tournament and therefore may not be permitted to participate in 2 events simultaneously.
In the case that the 2nd event begins before they have finished the 1st event, they may be required to withdraw from one or more of the events at the discretion of the DT.
Veteran Team events will consist of 3 minute bouts of 5 points each, to a total of 45 points.
Veteran events will use #5 weapons.
Veteran events will require legal masks, lames, wires and weapons - only weapons will be tested, the remainder must be adequately functional to the referee’s discretion.
All events will start with individual pool(s), and the cumulative performance of team members will be used to seed the team tableau.
Fees:
Fencer registration and payment are made through the individual events (example - Vet Combined Mixed Epee), teams are created through the team events (example - Vet Combined Mixed Epee Team).
For best results, only the team captain should register and create the team. AskFRED team creation is not easy, so let us know if you're having trouble and we can help on our end.
Each fencer pays a $10 admin fee (non-refundable) and a $35 entry fee - so a total $45 for one event, $80 for two events, and $115 for three events.
There will be an additional admin fee through the AskFRED portal.
For refunds please contact us directly, DO NOT process them through the AskFRED portal or your credit card.
There are no "late fee" penalties for asking to join after registration closes, HOWEVER resources and formats will be decided based on registration as of March 31 - so if adding late registrants will cause events to become unmanageable, we may choose to decline to let you join...
Tournament Rules:
Some of the items mentioned below may seem obvious, but safety is utmost.
All fencers will be required to:
- wear a minimum 350N rated fencing mask, fencing jacket, fencing pants and plastron (1/2 jacket)
- have adequately long socks (no skin showing), chest protector (optional for M events), and a glove in good (no holes) condition.
- wear decent, well fitting NON-MARKING inside-only runners.
- wear proper-sized, tucked-in t-shirts to insure that there isn't any skin showing between jacket edges and pants.
- use well-maintained weapons in good operating condition.
CFF Licenses:
All participating fencers will be required to have their CFF license (or foreign equivalent) for liability reasons.
USFA fencers please email name and events and we can pre-register you.
Licenses can be obtained at: www.fencing.ca
Fencing Equipment:
All participants must have their own gear or borrowed from their club.
TFF will have very limited equipment to borrow during the event, so participants must come prepared with “back up” weapons, lames and wires.
