November NAC Saber Preparation Clinic @ Forge Fencing

Join Maitre d'Saber Jeff Kallio at Forge Fencing for a clinic to help prepare athletes for the November NAC and beyond. We will focus on injury prevention, footwork, tactics, & bouting!
Join Coach Jeff Kallio at Forge Fencing for a saber preparation clinic focusing on preparing athletes to compete at the November North American Cup, in Fort Worth Texas. All regionally and nationally competitive saber fencers competing in Youth 14, Cadet, Junior, and Division 1 are welcome to attend, regardless if you are attending the NAC. Cost is INCLUDED for Forge High Performance Members. Fencers from other clubs are welcome and the camp fee is $75 per fencer, paid at the time of check in.
Pre-registration helps us plan! Camp fee is paid a the time of check in.
*If you are fencing the NC Junior Olympic Qualifiers and want to join us when you event is completed, please feel welcome! Just let Coach Jeff Know ahead of time.
Sunday, November 9th, 2025
Training Schedule:
- 11:30 - Club opens & fencers begin arriving
- Noon - Check in, goal setting, & warmups!
- 12:30-1:15 - Tactical Footwork with focus on fencing in the 4 meters, tactical footwork preparations, and second intention setups.
- 1:30-2:30 - Partner based tactical situational drills exploring key concepts in modern saber, including actions such as:
- Attack/Counter-Attack
- Reprise
- Attack in preparation
- Attacks through the box
- Second intention defense and counter-offense
- Role of counter-time
- 2:30-4:30 - Bouting exercises, open fencing, & modified team events
- 4:30-5:00 - Cool down, mobility work, injury prevention.
