Welcome to Way of the Sword!
The primary goal of this event is to provide a positive, safe, and pleasant experience for newcomers to the world of competitive fencing.
Who Should Attend?
- Typically, fencers attending this event have participated in none to few tournaments, mostly, if not entirely, at a local level. However, we understand you may have tried an RYC once or twice, but any more than that and this event is not for you.
Event Details & Requirements
- USFA Membership: All participants must have a valid US Fencing Association (USFA) membership, at minimum the "Access Level."
- Required Equipment: A full US Fencing Association (USFA) regulation uniform is mandatory. Please note: While uniforms are required to meet specifications, we will not be checking body cord springs.
- Our Environment: Expect a friendly and welcoming atmosphere designed to encourage new competitors.
- Recognition: All participants will receive a medal, regardless of their final placement.
- There is a LIMIT of 8 fencers per event. Organizers will make every attempt to NOT mix (boys and girls) events, but will do so if necessary
- Free parking no problem
- Cafe and coffee walking distance
- Equipment rental possible with advance notice ($25)
