We are delighted to welcome all participants and parents to Bautista Memorial. The tournament will be an exciting event and a great time for all involved - from referees to competitors, from spectators to coaches. We look forward to seeing you there!
Columbus Fencing & Fitness is proud to host the 18th Annual Ray Bautista Memorial Open. This annual tournament is sanctioned by the Columbus Division of USA Fencing. Our team is committed to making this a well-run and organized event. We look forward to your participation.
ALL EVENTS ARE CAPPED: Pre-registrations received after the capped spots are filled will be placed on a WAITING LIST. Confirmation of participation to fencers on the waiting list will be sent via email on May 10, 2024.
CLOSE OF REGISTRATION TIMES:
Mixed Open Sabre – 9:00AM (cap 21 competitors)
Mixed Open Foil – 12:00PM 12:30PM (cap 42 competitors)
Woman’s Sabre – 2:00PM (cap 15 competitors)
Mixed Open Épée – 3:00PM 2:30PM (cap 21 competitors)
The doors will open at 8:00 AM. We expect all events to start within 30 min from close of registration times.
FEES:
Open registration: $55/ event; Deadline Monday, May 6.
Late registration: $75/ event; Deadline Friday, May 10
Walk-in registration: $100/ event; Deadline @ Close of Registration.
AskFRED preregistration closes on Friday, May 10.
No prepayment is required; payments by CASH or CHECK are collected at check-in, based on AskFRED preregistration date.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT:
One round of pools with 100% promotion to Direct Elimination rounds. No fence-off for third place. Medals are awarded to the top four finishers. PLEASE HAVE YOUR CLUB'S WARM-UPS OR WHITES FOR THE MEDAL CEREMONY.
EQUIPMENT:
USA Fencing regulations apply. All masks will be tested for safety and gloves will be inspected visually.
USA FENCING MEMBERSHIP:
Current ACCESS or COMPETITIVE membership is required for all the events. Please go to www.usafencing.org to become a member or to upgrade/renew your current membership.
RULES:
USA Fencing rules apply as outlined in the USA Fencing Rulebook and as discussed further in the USA Fencing Athlete Handbook.
