Thisyear our host is the Metro Tacoma Fencing Club/Blue Steel, so comefence and meet the Tacoma fencing community! ------------------ Important Info: ------------------- Tournament: The WWD Mid-Winter Open Date(s): 02/01/2003 - 02/02/2003 Location: Gonyea Boys & Girls Club, Tacoma, WA (Driving directionsbelow) --- Event Schedule --- Saturday 2/1/03 8:30 am Doors Open 9:30 am Mixed Foil 11:30 am Women's Epee 1:30 pm Mixed Saber Sunday 2/2/03 9:00 am Doors Open 9:30 am Mixed Epee 11:30 am Women's Foil 1:30 pm Women's Saber --- Important Information --- All times are close of registration. Arrive early to get your equipment checked! We will be running on a strict schedule so yourpromptness is appreciated. Fencers that wish to fence in two events on the same day must reportto the strip when called or they may be scratched from the event. Registration fee is $5 plus $10 dollars per evententered. Tournament fees can be paid in cash or check made out to USFA/WWD. A $5 late fee will be charged if you do notpre-register by 10pm on Friday, January 31st. There is no penalty forpre-registering and not showing up. Tournament Rules Proof of USFA membership (or equivalent) will be required of all participants at check-in. Please bring your current USFA membershipcard. You may join or renew your USFA membership at the door. All weapons will be scored electrically. We will inspect and mark masks, lames, and body cords. Full USFA regulation uniform is required, including plastron,knickers, and knee-length socks. No jeans or sweatpants allowed. NO equipment will be available for loan at the venue so please checkthat your equipment is in good working condition before arriving. --- Strip Setup --- On Saturday morning at 8am we will be at the venue to set up thestrips. If you can show up early to help us setup the strips, wewill waive your $5 registration fee! --- Call for Directors --- The WWD is looking for qualified directors to assist in directing pools and DE bouts. If you can volunteer on one or both days, youwill be paid a 40 dollar per diem and get a free lunch! Turn left at the light onto Orchard Street.
