USFCA/NJIFA High School Foundational Fencing Coaching Clinic Event

Scheduled for May 18th, 2024 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm this 6-hour clinic is a significant milestone in the development of High School fencing coaching expertise. In partnership with the US Fencing Coaches Association (USFCA), this intensive one-day event aims to equip participants with foundational knowledge and skills and put participants on track to enter USFCA's National Coaching Development Program for coaching beginner and intermediate level fencers. Through this program, we empower individuals to become proficient coaches who can nurture the next generation of fencing talent and be prepared to pursue higher levels of coaching knowledge and skill in the future. Led by seasoned fencing instructors and USFCA-certified Coach Developers, the clinic covers a comprehensive curriculum including fundamentals of fencing technique, coaching strategies, safety protocols, and effective communication. Participants will engage in hands-on training sessions, receive personalized feedback, and network with fellow enthusiasts.

Members of the USFCA will receive 8 CEUs...teachers will receive 8 professional development hours.

Coaching equipment should be brought as we will be covering drills, however equipment will be provided if needed. Lunch will be catered.
